My old self , my friends, and even my closest ones—none of them could have imagined, not even in their wildest dreams, what’s happening now.

I'm getting married!

Unbelievable, right? Not just the fact that I’m getting married, but the kind of marriage I’m stepping into.

Today, I’m marrying a man I’ve never even seen.

My whole family is bustling here and there for preparations, attending guests , creating chaos...

Some are dancing their heart out.

And here...

Here I'm thinking about how will he look.

It’s not that I was forbidden from seeing him…

things just happened too quickly for me to overlook.

And here I am, clad in a deep red lehenga not for myself, but for a stranger.

Yes, “stranger”—that’s the word we use for someone unknown.

Did I mention the highlight of this very unknown stranger?

Oh, how could I forget—

He’s a 30-year-old man with two kids.

A pretty 5-year-old girl and a 2-month-old baby boy.

Does that even sound real?

There’s no way this marriage should make me a mother overnight.

This isn’t normal—nothing in my life is.

But now this… this could cost me my entire , my identity…

Me.

Still, no worries—because isn’t this what life is meant to be?

Unexpected. Unapologetic. And full of some unwanted happenings.

My mom came to take me to the wedding altar - where my marriage is held.

The more closer I move towards the place. The more my hopes are getting higher .

What if he will love me..

What if this marriage meant nothing to him like me...

What if he want to give this marriage a chance...

What if he still loves his ex-wife...

Or what if his kids doesn't like me....

Enough!

Last one was the worst. I don't want to be rejected by kids they're the only reason I thought this marriage can work... Fine, at least can hold us in this auspicious bond.

My own thoughts are capable of killing me, and right now, I feel like I’m really dying.

A father of two kids can’t be that bad. At the very least, he must be responsible — and that’s more than enough.

We reached the altar. I couldn’t see properly because of the long veil over my face. Everything seemed red, for obvious reasons. As I moved closer to the altar, I saw him.

Although his face was covered with sehra.

[Groom's headdress]

He was sitting quietly, Didn't even bother to look up or move.

My mother made me sit beside him, her hands briefly fixing my lehenga as I adjusted myself, trying to sit properly.

The Pandit ji chanted affirmations and started the wedding rituals.

We did what the priest said.

My husband did not even glance at me during the whole wedding neither did I.

Maybe he's nervous too.

"Aap dono aaj se pati patni ke roop mai jane jayenge."

[ You both will be known as married couple from now. ]

He said at the last and asked us to stand up and took elders blessing.

We took everyone blessing starting from his mother.

The woman who made this marriage happen or I would say she's the creator this whole union.

She gave us lots of blessing including long term relationship, happiness and prosperity.

Then we went to our parents they did the same.

We took the blessing of everyone else present there.

And here we move...

I move to an unknown world with a man whose name was the only thing I'm known to.

Don't ask me why I didn't cry... I cried before and during this whole chaos but not even one cared as they're very busy enjoying and celebrating my departure.
